Why Choose GeekThangs

  1. No Handoff, No Ticket Queue

You deal with the people building your site, from the first email to launch and everything after.

  2. We Start From The Job, Not A Template

Before anything gets designed we work out what the site has to do: who arrives, what you want them to do next, and what happens after they do.

  3. The Words Come With It

We write what the site says, not just what it looks like. You do not have to hand us copy before we can start.

  4. Metro Detroit

We are in St. Clair Shores, and close enough to most of the area to sit at your table and see the business for ourselves.

  5. We Look After It After Launch

We keep every site we have built running, and we are the ones you call when something needs changing.

Recent Builds

Each one has a page on how it was built.

Kozdron Homes

Website · Brighton, MI

A ground-up home builder in Livingston County. The site stands on photographs of a house they finished, and the homepage lays a drawing sheet over it, where the front elevation draws itself in.

The Kozdron Homes homepage on a laptop

GVST Wellness

Website · St. Clair Shores, MI

Yoga and group fitness across two studios. The design was the easy half. The work was making a class schedule, a price list and a booking path all agree with each other.

LionHeart Fitness

Website · Fraser, MI

A strength coach selling a coaching program, not a gym membership. The site had to explain the relationship, qualify people before they book a call, and hold up on a phone in a parking lot.

Built for ourselves, run for real

  • The WeeklyAsk member dashboard on a laptop

    WeeklyAsk

    Web app · In production

Software a local networking group runs on every week: a shared member directory, the current asks, a referral log and dues tracking, with accounts and roles behind it.

  • The SessionSmithy session planner on a laptop

    SessionSmithy

    Web app · Live

Session prep for tabletop games. A build for the fun of it that people kept using, so it stayed up and kept getting better.

  • The PokerThangs trainer on a laptop

    PokerThangs

    Web app · Live

A live-poker trainer. Playable drills, a villain cast, and a felt you have to actually read before you act.

Yours would be next, somewhere in Metro Detroit.

In Their Own Words

  • I got my first application from the site, and it's 90 million times better than I could have imagined.

    Jess LionHeart Fitness
  • Looks awesome. I posted about how I loved it this morning and posted your email with it.

    Pam GVST Wellness

Your website can do more than talk about your business.

GVST Wellness is a yoga and group fitness studio in St. Clair Shores. It came to us for a website. The rest followed, in this order. All six things we build.

  1. The GVST Wellness homepage on a laptop

    The Website

The site it replaced was a template, and it showed the studio a template's idea of itself: stock trainers, and a location that was not one of theirs. Everything on the new one is the studio.

  2. The GVST Wellness weekly schedule grid

    The Class Schedule

A weekly grid across both studios, with the teachers who actually teach, what each class costs and what a class pack expires in.

  3. The homepage block listing the classes running on the current day

    The Calendar Automation

One engine decides what is running. The block at the top of the homepage renames itself to the day you are reading on, and the sheet on the studio wall comes out of the same place, so the two cannot disagree.

  4. The GVST Wellness class catalog on a laptop

    The Booking Path

Booking stays where members already book, inside Arketa. The site embeds the live calendar rather than keeping a second copy of it that somebody has to remember to update.
